Brown trout are regularly encountered in the lake and spring steelhead sometimes are found in the lake during their spawning migrations. The lake and river combine to provide excellent paddling opportunities. The cabin is near ATV trails, snowmobile trails, Pictured Rocks, sandy Lake Superior beaches, water falls, hiking trails, and even a designated cross county ski park. It is about 40 minutes to Marquette and 15 minutes to Munising.
